About the event
I’ve teamed up with the Arts Council of Dickinson County and the Seelye Mansion for a unique Plein Air painting experience on the grounds of this beautiful historic site here in Abilene, KS.
At 3:30pm there will be a meet & greet in the Mansion before we head to the garden pond for an afternoon of Plein Air painting in a beautiful setting. Claude Monet would have felt right at home in this picturesque garden beside the grand home of the Seelye family, so we are using his paintings as inspiration to create a masterpiece. I’ll be providing step-by-step instructions for this painting, as well as tips and tools for starting your own Plein Air painting hobby, including recommendations to create your own portable painting kit. Beginners are welcome, as well as seasoned artists. All materials provided, or bring your own paints to create your own Plein Air experience.
