Artist's Statement:
"My bucket list has always been to visit as many National Parks as I can. John Muir is one of my biggest heroes. I know that these lands are important to the heart and soul of our country, not to mention their importance in protecting the diversity of plant and animal life.
As I'm writing this, our parks are more vulnerable than they have ever been, due to cuts in budgets and jobs in the National Parks Services. In solidarity with the employees and rangers, I’ve decided that if I can’t visit all the parks, the least I can do is to use my art to showcase their beauty, their value and bring more attention to the fact that these lands need to be protected. Today, I’m starting a new art series…I’m gonna attempt to paint every one of the 63 national parks this year."
